CCPS was founded and incorporated as the fourth chapter of the
Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado, Inc. and elected the first
officers to serve in 1989. Central to the founding vision was "The
purpose of this organization shall be to improve the profession of
surveying in Colorado." The original goals were stated to be:
"Get surveyors talking to one another", "Share survey and other
information", "Discover that the problems in the profession are
universal", "Seek solutions to the problems with input from all",
"Educate those wishing to join the profession", "Continue to educate
those in the profession", and "Work with PLSC to disseminate information". The CCPS
leadership has developed many ways to achieve these goals and continues
to evolve and improve as time goes by. CCPS welcomes participation of
members and nonmembers at the general meetings. CCPS encourages member
input and solicits membership comments on all aspects impacting the
profession of Land Surveying in Colorado.
